Woody: While floral scents are the norm for women’s fragrances, woody scents are the most popular base for men’s colognes. Aromatic: Aromatic plants have been used since the 19th century in perfumery, particularly in colognes. The term refers to the aromatic family in which perfumes with notes of lavender, camphor, mint, anise and lemon are classified. Perfumes built around these notes generally have a classical connotation for Westerners, because unlike spices that are brought from distant countries, many aromatics are found in our gardens (rosemary, thyme, basil, lavender …).
